PAM Awards 2025

We are proud to share that COEX @ Kilang Besi, a project by aLM Architects, has been awarded the Silver Award in the Alteration & Addition category at the Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) Awards 2025.

Located in the heart of George Town, Penang, COEX @ Kilang Besi is a creative adaptive reuse project that breathes new life into a disused industrial warehouse. Once a quiet ironworks factory, the site has now been transformed into a vibrant cultural and creative hub—housing art spaces, community studios, cafes, and independent brands, all stitched together by a deep respect for history, structure, and spatial honesty.

The PAM Awards is Malaysia’s most prestigious recognition for architectural excellence, and to be acknowledged in the Alteration & Addition category is especially meaningful for us. This award celebrates not only design ingenuity but also the careful negotiation between preservation and innovation—a balance we sought to strike throughout the development of COEX.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to designing spaces that inspire, connect, and endure.
